This also includes the IP address of your requesting device. It is temporarily stored in a log file and retained for a maximum of 7 days, after which it is automatically deleted or anonymized.
The processing of this data serves technical and administrative purposes for establishing and maintaining the connection, ensuring the security and functionality of our website, and, if necessary, enabling us to pursue unlawful attacks.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest follows from the aforementioned security interest and the necessity of a trouble-free provision of our website.
We cannot draw any direct conclusions about your identity from processing the IP address and other information in the log file.
We use analytics services and cookies when you visit our website; you may object to their use. We use Google Analytics to understand how our website is used.
As soon as you visit our website and personal data is processed there, our hosting provider Strato (Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, hereinafter “Strato”) also comes into contact with the data processed there. Our data processing agreement stipulates, among other things, that data is processed exclusively in Germany and that encrypted data transmission is used, along with many other measures to protect your data. This also applies to all further processing on our website and the personal data processed in the course of it.
As part of our customer support and administration, and for other inquiries, we provide extensive telephone support and service. When we contact each other by phone, our processor is engaged via a VoIP system (Voice over Internet Protocol). This system is used regardless of whether you call us via the public telephone network or the internet.
When calling us via this VoIP system, the following personal data is processed: phone number, possibly your IP address, call duration, and call metadata.
Our processor Vodafone GmbH (Ferdinand-Braun-Platz 1, D-40549 Düsseldorf, hereinafter “Vodafone”) establishes the VoIP connection and comes into contact with this data during processing.
Data is collected solely for the purpose of establishing the connection during the call and to meet legal requirements for such communication. Depending on the purpose of the underlying call, the legal basis may vary. If the call concerns customer support for one of our products, processing can be based on Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR. The same applies if the call concerns contract initiation. In all other calls, Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR may be relied upon; the legitimate interest here arises in particular from the fact that processing of personal data takes place at your request.
Retention of the resulting personal data complies with statutory requirements.
At various points, especially in our online offering, you can contact us via e-mail. This fulfills, among other things, the legal requirement for a quick electronic contact option pursuant to § 5 (1) no. 2 TMG. E-mail can also be used to send us questions or comments of any kind. When contacting us by e-mail, the e-mail addresses of the communication partners are processed as personal data. In addition, other personal data may arise within the communication.
In this communication, our contracted e-mail hosts Strato (Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, “Strato”) and Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA, come into contact with the personal data processed. Contractual provisions include data processing exclusively in Germany or the encryption of data transmission via TLS/SSL.
Depending on the underlying purpose of the communication, the legal basis may vary. If contact is made in the course of an existing or initiating contractual relationship, processing may be based on Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR. If the inquiry has another purpose, our legitimate interest in processing may arise from Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR, namely our interest in being able to respond to the request. We are also legally obliged under § 5 (1) no. 2 TMG to provide electronic contact options, which may additionally justify processing under Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. c) GDPR.
If the inquiry relates to an existing (customer) or initiating contractual relationship (prospect), we store the data for up to two additional years in the customer history. In all other cases, e-mails are deleted if further processing is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply; e.g., when the matter has been answered and resolved. As a fallback, e-mails are subject to a standard retention period of two years.
In the “Jobs” section you can apply for open positions or send an unsolicited application to jobs@youniverse.com.
We need your data to determine who the application is from and to be able to respond and process it.
Processing is carried out at your request and only insofar as it is necessary to respond to an application and carry out pre-contractual measures pursuant to § 26 (1) sentence 1 alt. 1 BDSG (in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) GDPR) or to safeguard our legitimate interests or those of third parties pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR.
Please also note section 2 (d) of this statement regarding contacting us by e-mail, particularly that the processors Strato and Microsoft come into contact with personal data processed in this context.
Applications not considered will be deleted after no later than six months, unless you have consented to longer storage pursuant to Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR or legal proceedings are pending. With your consent, we will keep your application on file and get back to you if needed.
During a contract with us, you may be offered the option to submit a customer review via Google Customer Reviews. We work with Google for this purpose. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, 4 Barrow St, Dublin, D04 E5W5, Ireland (“Google”).
If you give your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR, we transmit, in particular, your e-mail address and other data (e.g., that you concluded a contract with us and other communication data) to Google. You will then receive an e-mail from Google asking you to rate us. Your rating will be aggregated with our other ratings and displayed in our Google Customer Reviews and Merchant Center dashboard. Your rating is also used for Google Seller Ratings.
Please note that Google processes your data worldwide, including in so-called third countries for which the EU Commission has not determined an adequate level of data protection. To meet GDPR requirements for such data exports, we have concluded a contract with Google that also includes standard contractual clauses intended to ensure your rights remain protected in third countries.
Google is a joint controller with us in the sense of data protection law. This means, among other things, that we cannot solely determine all purposes and means of processing your data. Google also follows its own data protection policies and, to a certain extent, uses your data for its own purposes, especially Google Ads products. Therefore, if you wish to exercise your rights or have questions about this processing, it may be necessary depending on the situation to contact Google directly.
You can withdraw your consent from us at any time. Depending on the processing stage, it may also be necessary for you to object to further processing by Google in particular.
